1. We Paint the Picture
We begin with a virtual backyard design consultation. TCP both founded virtual outdoor living consultations and continues to set the standard. One of our talented project developers gets acquainted with you and takes time to understand everything you want in your outdoor living area. No one call closes, no pressure sales…your project is complicated and needs time and attention to detail.
In this meeting, your project developer reviews your lot survey and photos, asks questions, makes sketches, and shares inspirational photos of other projects — patios, outdoor kitchens, custom pools, and more.
2. You Show Us Your Space
After initial design discussions, we will schedule an on-site visit to ensure we have everything necessary to design/build your project and nothing is missed.
Together, we generate a vision for your outdoor project—one that incorporates all the functionality and style you have dreamed of.
3. We Render
Next, we are ready to put our knowledge of building over 4000 unique outdoor living projects (structures), and develop a customized backyard design and proposal, thoughtfully tailored to your goals and space allotted.
Using your lot survey, measurements, and photo documentation, we create a drawing to precise specifications and dimensions, plus renderings of various views and elevations. Our talented designers focus on your home’s original aesthetic and decades of experience to ensure space planning is maximized and ensure any additions — such as patio covers, outdoor kitchens, pools and pool houses — blend seamlessly with your existing home.
4. We Educate and Collaborate
Renderings are included in your proposal, along with an accurate price quote—never an “estimate.”
We meet with you in person to review the proposal, answer any remaining questions before contract signing.
5. You Choose
The enjoyment really begins as you make final material choices. Minimalistic, Mediterranean, modern, or use custom made-to-order materials. This is your chance to infuse your personal style into your outdoor living space.
6. We Deliver
As you make selections, we will coordinate the order and delivery of all materials needed for your project. During this phase, we will coordinate Homeowners Association approvals in addition to any city permitting required.
If your city or county requires a permit for outdoor construction, we complete all required engineering, submissions, inspections, and approvals connected with permits. You can expect a 4-8 week wait for engineering and permitting.
7. We Got This
Your project manager will schedule our skilled artisans and tradespeople to carry out their respective roles of your outdoor project at the appropriate times, while carefully considering weather conditions. Learn More about typical project build times.
8. You Relax
To ensure your backyard design is followed to a “T,” both a project developer and project manager will oversee the work from start to finish. They will always be just an email or a phone call away to answer any questions you may have.
When the project is complete, this team will do a detailed walk-through with you to be sure you are pleased with every aspect of your new outdoor living area.
